A 41-year-old local man has been arrested for alleged sexual abuse of an 11-year-old girl, police said Sunday.
Police said they had received a report on Wednesday of a an 11-year-old girl being allegedly abused in a southern island.

In a message to the media Sunday, the police said:

The 41-year-old man was arrested on Thursday under a warrant

He has been remanded in police custody for five days by a local court
The police are investigating the matter further.
Police refused to divulge further details.
