2 arrested in drug smuggling case; over 6kg seized
Police said the arrests were made during a joint operation conducted by the Maldives Police Service and the Maldives Customs Service.

Two men have been arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs into the Maldives by sea, police said.
According to the Maldives Police Service, the suspects were arrested on charges related to importing, using, possessing and selling drugs in the Maldives.
The two men were identified as:

Ismail Aban Abdulla, 25, MA. Tharijehiaage, Malé

Ahmed Dhan Farhood, 19, Raiymaage, S. Maradhoo
Police said the arrests were made during a joint operation conducted by the Maldives Police Service and the Maldives Customs Service.
More than 6 kilograms of drugs were seized during the operation.
The suspects were produced before court and remanded in custody for five days.
Police said the investigation into the case is ongoing.
