Speedboat captain injured in collision near MPL
Police said the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The captain of a speedboat was injured following a collision with a tugboat near the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) area on Saturday morning, police said.
The Maldives Police Service said the incident was reported at 10:39am.
In a statement, police said the injured captain was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for treatment.
Police said the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
According to police, there were three crew members on board the speedboat in addition to the captain at the time of the incident.
The speedboat sustained damage in the collision.
Police said the case is under investigation.
Images shared on social media show damage to the vessel, including broken windows and structural impact.
