Five foreign nationals have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and assault of a Bangladeshi national in Hulhumalé.
The Maldives Police Service said the case was reported last Wednesday. An operation was launched to locate the victim, who was later found in Vilimalé.
Police confirmed that the victim was rescued and taken to hospital for medical assessment before being released.
Five Bangladeshi nationals have been arrested in connection with the case. They are:

The court has ordered that the suspects be held in custody for 15 days.
