Environment ministry said Wednesday that a waste-to-energy power plant in Addu will be operational by July.
In an update on the project, the ministry said that efforts are underway to build the waste power generation plant abroad and bring it to Addu. According to the ministry, 95% of the work on setting up the plant has been completed.
According to the ministry, the process is underway:

Construction of the plant's control room building

Construction of garbage collection building
"Efforts are underway to ensure that these works are completed by July," the environment ministry said in a statement.
The ministry has estimated that 1.5 MW of electricity will be produced by burning 50 tonnes of waste at the plant. The ministry has also decided on how to use the power that is generated. According to the ministry,:
