
MDP votes to remove 4 pro-Nasheed MPs from parliamentary committees
The parliamentary group also decided to approach the party secretariat seeking action against the four MPs.
MDP parliamentary group on Wednesday passed a motion to remove four of its MPs who support the breakaway faction of party President Mohamed Nasheed from parliamentary committees that they currently chair.
Nasheed, who had unsuccessfully contested the party's presidential primary against President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, is now working against President Solih after creating a separate faction.
A member of the party's parliamentary group confirmed to Atoll Times that the motion to remove four MPs from parliamentary committees was passed. The four MPs are:

Maafannu North MP Imthiyaz Fahmy (chair of the judiciary committee)

Henveiru West MP Hassan Latheef (chair of the general committee)

Hulhudhoo MP Ilyas Labeeb (chair of state owned enterprises committee)

Kulhudhuffushi North MP Yasir Abdul Latheef (chair of the ethics and disciplinary committee)
