Urbanco on Wednesday increased the space allotted to the areas leased for the operation of watersports in Hulhumale.
Urbanco said in a statement that it has granted permission to operate waterports in 12 locations in Hulhumale and has increased the land plot given to each operator by 20 feet.
Urbanco said that the decision to increase the space in these areas was taken with an aim to increase the services provided to the public.

A public toilet and an outdoor shower should be set up for people going to the beach

Security, maintenance and cleaning works are the responsibility of watersports operators
Urbanco had earlier allowed takeaway services to waterport owners. As a result, beach-goers can get snacks, water and a few other items from the beach area itself, the company said.
Urbanco's move comes in the wake of growing public complaints that some of the waterport service providers have started doing business of restaurants/cafes illegally.
