President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said on Tuesday that ensuring an island-like and easy life in all islands is linked to the revival of the Maldivian nationhood.
The president made the remarks at the National Day function held in HA. Utheemu Tuesday morning, in connection with the development projects carried out by the government in small populations as well.
The president said that it was not the government's prerogative to abandon the efforts undertaken to pave the way for better health, education and income. He appealed for the support of all citizens.

The president noted that the root cause of social issues like drugs and gang violence is the weakening nationhood.
"Facilitate drug trafficking and illegal trade on the seas that Boduthakurufaanu rescued and protected is not linked to our nationhood," he said.
The president called for peace in an uncertain world, based on the principles of Islam, which he said is at the heart of the Maldivian nationhood.
