MVR7 set as fare for new mini-bus in Male

Government on Thursday announced that mini-bus fare has been set at MVR 7 per ticket.
Maldivian government’s official twitter account posted a video entailing the mini bus routes in Male, as well as bus stops and fare. These mini buses have been doing test runs in Male since 20 July.
Before the mini bus services are commenced officially, the buses will run a two-week trial, free for all passengers. The government has not yet disclosed when the mini bus services will begin officially.
Children below the age of 3 and in school uniform will get to travel for free on the mini buses, along with senior citizens.
Authorities have mapped the bus routes, stops and marked the no parking areas along these routes back in July. These buses will travel on four roads; Majeedhee Magu, Ameenee Magu, Orchid Magu and Boduthakurufaanu Magu.
In the video, the government specified bus stops along its main routes, with a total of 18 stops on each route.

Twelve mini buses, each with the capacity to carry 20 passengers, will ferry people in Male. All the buses have air conditioning and will be consistently available at all stops every 10 minutes.
