Israel urges citizens not to travel to Maldives

The Israeli foreign ministry has issued a warning to Israeli citizens not to travel to the Maldives, according to the country's media.
"The atmosphere in the Maldives against Israel is intensifying and therefore Israeli citizens are advised to avoid traveling to the Maldives at this time," the foreign ministry's statement read, as per Israeli newspaper Arutz Sheva.
Maldivians have been taking to the streets of capital Male and other islands to voice against the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the current assault on Gaza.
Although Maldives grants on-arrival visa to all nationals regardless of their nationality, the country does not have diplomatic relations with Israeli.
According to official figures, about 15,000 Israeli tourists visit the Maldives every year.
