An Indian working for a Maldivian family as a nanny to look after a child has been arrested for allegedly assaulting the child.
Sandeep Kor, 22, was arrested on Wednesday on charges of assaulting the child and remanded in police custody for 15 days.
According to the woman's arrest warrant, she was in charge of the child. The woman was arrested on charges of physically assaulting the child. Police have submitted evidence against the woman.
The judge said the reason for ordering her arrest was that she was accused of assaulting a child in her care and her actions were considered a threat to the safety of the community.
