PPM-PNC to hold join parliamentary primary on Jan 20

The Election Commission expects the election to be held in late March or early April next year.

The PPM-PNC primary will be held on January 20 to select the candidates contesting the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The PPM issued a statement on Wednesday evening saying that the two parties will contest the upcoming parliamentary elections in coalition.

To determine the PPM-PNC candidates for the election:

  • The Progressive Congress Coalition primary is scheduled for Saturday, January 20 next year

  • The opportunity to apply for the coalition's ticket will be open from 20 to 31 next month

The current five-year term of the 19th Parliament expires on 28 May. According to the law, members must be elected for a new term before April 29, 2024.

The Election Commission expects the election to be held in late March or early April next year.
