The salary structure for the police and army has been formulated and sent to the agencies.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had announced that he will increase the salaries of the police and army, starting from next year during his presidential election campaigns.
Thursday marks the last day of Solih’s presidency. Presidential Spokesperson Miuvaan Mohammed said on Thursday that the Pay Commission has formulated the salary structure for the police and army from January next year.

MVR 500 million has been included in next year's budget to increase employees' salaries.
