Opposition MDP in parliament has proposed to question housing minister Dr Ali Haider for details of how the government is going to pay back the money spent by the owners of the Hiyaa flats since president Mohamed Muizzu had promised to compensate for the money spent by the people for completing the finishing work of the social housing flats themselves.
MDP MP Ali Niyaz on Wednesday moved a written question to Minister Haider. The question proposed to Haider is:
-
To see how the money is planned to be paid and the period for which it is scheduled to be paid
In his letter to question the minister, Niyaz noted that President Muizzu had pledged during the presidential campaign to provide MVR 200,000 to each of the flat recipients as money spent on the finishing work of the Hiyaa flats.
Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed, who was appointed as the Managing Director of Urbanco, said on Tuesday that the money would be paid to the owners of the Hiyaa flats, assuring that the president will keep his word.
