
4 contest JP deputy leader election; voting on Sunday
A JP official told Atoll Times that polling will be held at 2 pm on Sunday.

Four candidates have filed for the vacant post of Deputy Leader of the Jumhoory Party (JP). An election is scheduled for Sunday to select a candidate for the post.
The post of JP Deputy -Leader became vacant after Iqbal Adam resigned from the post after the second round of the presidential election. Iqbal is, now a minister in the President’s Office.
The party opened for a total of 12 vacancies, including that post, on 22nd last month.
The deadline for nominations for the post of Deputy Leader has expired and the numbers of candidates have now been finalized.
