Authorities in Maldives on Sunday cautioned over a defective batch of Allersine eye drops, manufactured by Malaysia's Duopharma Company, and began recalling the defective batch from pharmacies.
Allersine eye drops were recalled after Malaysia's National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) informed the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) that there was a defect in some of the batches.
The NPRA found that six batches of the drug had problems, of which two batches (193033L and 200607L) were sold in the Maldives.
In a statement, the MFDA said:
-
The drug is registered with MFDA and is on the list of drugs allowed to be imported and sold in the country
-
Defective batches in the country are being recalled from the market in collaboration with the company that imported the drug to the Maldives
