Maldives crosses 200,000 tourists in a month to set new record

The total number of tourists in the first two months of last year was 350,414, and by now the figure in 2024 is 392,389.

More than 200,000 tourists visited Maldives in February, setting a new record.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, 200,004 tourists arrived in Maldives this month as of Monday. This is the first time the number of tourists visiting Maldives has crossed 200,000 in a month.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, as of February 26, the total number of tourists visiting Maldives this year was 392,389. This is a 15% increase from last year.

The total number of tourists in the first two months of last year was 350,414.

  • The record for the highest number of tourists on a single day was also renewed this month; On the 10th of this month, 10,213 tourists arrived

The government aims to attract two million tourists this year. Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal estimates that the number will increase to more than two million with additional efforts to promote Maldives tourism.
