President calls on people to exercise kindness during Ramadan
President Muizzu urged the people of Maldives to strengthen ties with each other as the poeple of this nation are one family.

President Mohamed Muizzu has called on the people to do good unto each other during the fasting month and said that he strives to set an example of such kindness.
In his people’s address on the occasion of the beginning of Ramadan, the President highlighted the aid and facilities provided by his government to the people for the holy month.
The President said that Ramadan is a month of goodness in every conceivable way and therefore it is important to strengthen the habit of doing good to each other.
The President noted that:

The government should provide good to the people, and the government needs the cooperation of the people for it to happen

The poor will need the help of the wealthy

Every citizen should help each other

It is important to cultivate the virtue of kindness in all relationships
"With the help of Allah, this government has tried to set an example in this regard. The heartbreaking problem of fishermen not getting paid for the fish they sold was solved by Ramadan. The difficulties in air-lifting patients has also been solved by Ramadan”.
The President said measures have been taken to reduce traffic congestion for the ease of motorists and pedestrians.
The government had decided to give food essentials to each household to encourage kindness into becoming a habit, he said.
The President also said that the last 10 days of Ramadan were made public holidays to allow the people more time for worship.
In his address, the President noted that since Ramadan is a month for patience, the people should aid each other in relieving their burdens.
The President said the Islamic Ummah is like one body and asked the people to pray for the entire Ummah.
In particular, as the month of Ramadan approaches, all Maldivians should always remember the Muslims who have lost their homes and families due to war, terror and hunger in Palestinian territory, he said.
In the holy land where the Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the holiest mosques of Muslims, is located, he prayed for victory for the Palestinian people in their struggle for Islam and freedom and for their deliverance from the tyranny of the oppressors.
In his Ramadan greetings, President Muizzu urged the people of Maldives to strengthen ties with each other as we are one family.
The President also urged the people to be reflective and use polite language to communicate with each other and treat each other with respect.
