The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has designated certain areas for the display of campaign banners in Hulhumale.

HDC made this announcement at a time when political parties are putting up banners and canvases in various parts of the city for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

HDC on Tuesday issued a statement urging the posters to be put up so as not to damage or hinder the networks of public service providers.

The reason for HDC issuing caution is that the area where the posters and banners get put up may damage the electricity cables, water and sewerage systems.

The statement advised to obtain permission from HDC before posting campaign material and follow the guidelines and advice of the corporation.

The HDC also shared a chart of the areas where campaign materials will be allowed to be posted.
