ACC links 99.9% graft money recovery to state-owned firms

Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has revealed that 99.9 percent of funds involving corruption need to be recovered from state-owned companies.
According to last year's figures released on Tuesday, the commission had ordered various state bodies to recover graft linked money in 10 separate cases.

ACC said nearly the entire amount has to be recovered by state-owned companies.
According to the figures, state-owned firms need to recover MVR 50،345،542 lost to corruption which is 99.9 percent of the total amount.
From the amount that needs to be recovered by state-owned companies, only MVR 181،352.15 have been recovered thus far which amounts to only 0.3 percent of the total figure, ACC said.
