The 'Cool School' program, initiated to air-condition all government schools, has been officially launched from Kaafu atoll Maafushi School.
The program was launched on Sunday by Education Minister Dr Ismail Shafeeu, at a ceremony held at Maafushi School, which has 530 students.
Under the program:

The AC’s were installed in the school by the Council

The council has decided to carry out the project in two phases

Under the first phase, all classrooms and school halls have been air-conditioned

Under the second phase, solar panels will be installed in the school
In addition, the Maafushi Women's Committee donated TVs for the 12 newly built classrooms and multipurpose hall.
Under the 'Cool School' programme, all government schools will have AC installed within two years. The program is supported by the government and the general public.
