Yousuf Maaniu Mohamed, who was the Commissioner of Customs, has been transferred as a state minister, while his deputy Fatimath Diyana has been appointed as the Commissioner of Customs.

This is the first time a woman has been appointed as the Commissioner of Customs.

Dhiyana is appointed in the rank of a state minister. Before her appointment as the customs chief, Dhiyana held the position of Deputy Commissioner of Customs.

The President’s Office said that Maaniu has been appointed as a state minister for homeland security.

The reason for the change is unclear.
