Pedestrian injured after motorcycle skids into zebra crossing in Hulhumalé

A pedestrian was injured in a road accident in Hulhumalé on Sunday night after a motorcycle lost control and struck a person crossing the road.
Police said the incident was reported at approximately 9:26 p.m.
According to police, the accident occurred on Hithigas Magu in Hulhumalé Phase 2. A motorcycle travelling from north to south lost control, skidded and collided with a pedestrian using a zebra crossing.
The pedestrian sustained injuries and was taken for medical treatment.
Police identified the injured person as a Maldivian male and confirmed that he is receiving treatment at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
No further details regarding the extent of the injuries have been released.
Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
