Drug operation still underway in Hoadedhdhoo: Police
The police had earlier claimed that the items were seized from the island’s woods, and that they had been buried.

Police revealed on Sunday that a major drug operation is still ongoing in GDh. Hoadedhdhoo.
Since last week, the drug enforcement department of the police has been conducting a massive operation in Gaafu Dhaalu atoll. Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed revealed on Friday that a large quantity of drugs were seized from Hondedhoo during the operation.
When asked by Atoll Times about the number of people arrested so far in the operation and the amount of drugs seized, a police spokesman said that the operation is still going on.
More details will be revealed only after the operation is over, he said.
While the police have not officially released information regarding the drugs recovered so far, Atoll Times has learnt that 15 kg of drugs have been recovered. The police had earlier claimed that the items were seized from the island’s woods, and that they had been buried.
As part of the operation, the police had arrested three people on Tuesday. The death of one of them while in police custody has heated up.
