President Mohamed Muizzu said on Thursday that many requests submitted to him through public letters have already been addressed and that work is ongoing to resolve the remaining issues.

He made the remarks during a meeting with residents of Maafannu at Thajuddheen School on Thursday night. Speaking before opening the floor to the public, the President said he is working to respond to matters raised through letters, speeches and documents handed over at such gatherings.

“Whatever you say, we will take it seriously and work to address it. Whether it is a concern, dissatisfaction, issue, idea or comment, you may present it here,” he said, addressing attendees alongside ministers and senior government officials.

He added that residents at the meeting would again have the opportunity to submit letters outlining their concerns and proposals. The President said he would “hopefully attend” to each submission.

Muizzu noted that he has held similar meetings across the country and that people in every island have submitted written requests detailing personal and community-related issues. He said several of these matters have already been resolved.

The President has previously met with residents of Villimale and Machchangolhi, where he said he is reviewing the letters and issues raised by the public during those sessions.
