Maldives on Saturday issued a strong condemnation of the recent Israeli bombing of the Al-Tabi’in School in Gaza.

The attack resulted in the deaths of over a hundred displaced Palestinians who had sought refuge at the school.

The foreign ministry of Maldives described the incident as a "massacre" and labeled the actions as "genocidal," highlighting that they targeted civilians, including children.

The statement from the ministry emphasised that such actions are a clear breach of the fundamental principles of international law and international humanitarian law, as well as the 2610 resolution of the UN Security Council.

Maldives called upon the international community to take decisive measures to stop these attacks on innocent civilians and to work towards achieving lasting peace for the people of Palestine.

In its statement, Maldives reiterated its unwavering support for the people of Palestine in their legitimate pursuit of their inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination and statehood. The government and people of Maldives remain resolute in supporting the Palestinian cause, it added.
