On the occasion of India's Independence Day, President Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday extended greetings and best wishes to India's President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In separate letters sent to the prime minister and president of India, President Muizzu stated that India continues to be an invaluable partner in the development of the Maldives.
The long-standing partnership, based on mutual respect and trust, has evolved into a close and cooperative friendship that has been instrumental in advancing the development and prosperity of the Maldives, he added.
In his messages, President Muizzu reaffirmed the government of Maldives' full commitment to strengthening the historic relations between the two countries.
President Muizzu also extended his best wishes for the president and prime minister's good health and well-being, as well as for further progress and prosperity for the people of India.
Earlier on Thursday, the president posted a message on social media, sending greetings on the occasion of the Independence Day of India.
