Maldives deports 2 popular expats for salon business

Two popular foreigners who were running major salons in Maldives have been deported.
Rajani 'Riz' Shrestha of Ritz Beauty Salon and Sushmita 'Suzu' Daugoda of Suzu Beauty Salon were arrested in a series of operations conducted by the immigration.
The immigration said Shrestha was taken into custody on August 11 following a special inspection conducted by Immigration Watch.
"It was learned that the foreigner was doing business illegally outside the visa issued to her," the immigration said.
The agency said Shrestha and his four foreign employees were deported on August 13 due to lack of valid visas.
The Maldives Immigration said Daugoda was taken into custody on August 18. She was deported on August 20 for doing business illegally outside the visa issued to her.
