The Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Mauroof Jameel, resigned from his position on Wednesday. The following day, Deputy Managing Director Fayaz Mansoor also tendered his resignation.

Fayaz was appointed to the deputy role in January 2025, following Mauroof’s appointment as Managing Director in December 2024. No official reason has been provided for Fayaz’s resignation.

Mauroof had earlier announced his intention to retire on 18 August 2025. However, he submitted his resignation following a request from the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB).

Following Mauroof’s departure, Ali Zuhair, former Managing Director of the Road Development Corporation (RDC), was appointed as the new Managing Director of HDC on Sunday.

Mauroof took over as Managing Director after his predecessor, Ibrahim Fazul Rashid, resigned amid allegations of corruption related to land allocation and flat distributions in Uppsala.
