Damas Real Estate’s ‘One Park’, the country's first parkade (parking building), showcased its location and opened the option of booking parking space with special offers on Wednesday.
State planning minister Akram Kamaluddin inaugurated the parkade project with state-of-the-art security features and space for businesses at a ceremony held at H. Meerumaa on Wednesday.
The project aims to address the shortage of parking space in Hulhumale.
According to Damas, purchasing parking space at One Park will give them the right to register a vehicle or take a long-term lease. Traders will also be allowed to rent out space for business and from food courts, they said.
At present, only park slots are open for booking on One Park's website. Under the existing 'Early Bird’ offer, buyers of parking space can avail a discount of 5% of the total cost or any other parking space immediately till the construction is completed.
At the launch of the project, illustrations of the finished seven-storey One Park was shown. The building consists of:
-
Two floors for commercial purposes
-
Five floors for the parking lot
-
Over 500 parking spaces
-
Long-term parking (up to 30 years) can be rented out
-
Electric vehicle charging stations available
-
There will be special garages for premium parking
-
The entire building is designed to be friendly to people with special needs; there will be lifts, escalators and ramps
The special services include:
-
Round-the-clock security will be maintained
-
Valet Parking (a service in which guests can have their vehicles parked by an employee)
-
Vehicle repair services
Damas said that apart from finding a solution to the parking problem, the parkade will also introduce exclusive brands. The terrace of the parking building will have a foodcourt that will offer tastes from different countries.
The agreement for the project was signed between HDC and Damas on 10 October. The project was given two years for completion.
