Sea swells hit Male; likely to affect flood-prone islands
MET has issued a white alert for high-tide from K. Atoll to Addu from 8:45am to 1:30pm.
Capital Male was hit by sea swells on Saturday, with the meteorological service (MET) forecasting high tide to throughout the night in Male as well as several flood-prone islands across the Maldives.
Though there was no rainfall, Male continued to reel under sea swells Saturday morning, especially at Carnival and Artificial Beach area.
According to the MET, sea swells are likely to hit central and southern islands during high tide.

"The high-tide observed today is not unusual. The sea swells are caused due to the wave conditions in the Maldives," a MET official said.
