Govt to announce revised flat list in Oct

Housing ministry is preparing to release the revised list of beneficiaries for the flat scheme by the end of this month, following the resolution of issues related to the previous list.
A permanent list of recipients under the scheme was gazetted at the end of the previous government's term, with some agreements already signed with recipients.
However, the list faced significant complaints, prompting an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), which found that 59.6% of the forms examined were ineligible.
In a message to the media, the housing ministry emphasised that, in line with President Mohamed Muizzu's commitment, the updated list would be announced before the end of October.
The government has opted to revise the previously gazetted list without adding new names. Housing minister Dr Ali Haider had earlier confirmed that the list would be reviewed and released within this month.
The review process will follow the rules and conditions established by the previous government.
