According to the internal communication issued by the police, Shifan’s new role as Head of the Service Development Directorate marks a shift in his responsibilities.
Assistant Commissioner Moosa Ali has been appointed to succeed Shifan as the Head of the Police Commissioner's Office.
Shifan was appointed as Head of the Police Commissioner's Office and police spokesperson in December, shortly after President Mohamed Muizzu took office. Prior to this, Shifan was at the police academy in Addu and also served as the police spokesperson during the administration of former President Abdull Yameen.
