2 arrested on highway over Hulhumale assault
The suspects were apprehended on the highway while attempting to flee.
A man was attacked near the Rehendhi turf grounds in Hulhumale on Friday night, according to the Maldives Police Service.
The incident was reported at 11:35 p.m. The injured man received treatment at Hulhumale Hospital and was later released. Details of his injuries were not disclosed.
Police stated that the man was attacked by two individuals on a motorcycle. The suspects were apprehended on the highway while attempting to flee. A weapon and a knife believed to have been used in the attack were recovered from the area. Reports indicate that an axe was used in the assault.

Police confirmed that an investigation is ongoing. A video of the suspects has been circulating on social media.
In a separate incident last week, two foreigners were involved in a fight inside a cafe, leaving one person with serious injuries. Another incident occurred on Kanbaa Aisaarani Magu, where a man was attacked by two individuals on a motorcycle using a hammer.
