
Customs seizes MVR 877,600 worth of drugs at airport

Maldives Customs has seized drugs valued at MVR 877,600 that were being smuggled into the country by air.
According to Customs, the items were discovered during a detailed inspection of a shipment of common goods that arrived in the Maldives from Thailand Saturday night.
Customs reported the following details regarding the seizure:

The drugs were concealed in 20 packets.

Initial tests indicated the presence of cannabis.

The total weight of the seized drugs was 1,097 grams.
