
Customs seizes MVR 6.7 million worth of drugs smuggled by sea
Customs has handed over the confiscated substances to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.
Maldives Customs has seized drugs valued at MVR 6.7 million during an operation to inspect a shipment that arrived in the country by sea.
According to Customs, the seizure was made during a special operation conducted Thursday morning. The confiscated drugs weighed a total of 3.5 kilograms.
Customs stated that tests confirmed the presence of 1,086 grams of ketamine, 2,138 grams of methamphetamine, and 310 grams of heroin.
The estimated street value of the seized drugs is MVR 6.7 million.
Customs has handed over the confiscated substances to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.
