
8 linked to woman's fall remain in Maldives, police say

Police have confirmed that eight individuals believed to be linked to the fall of Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed, 21, from the ninth floor of H. Fentenoige last Thursday night had remained in the Maldives until at least 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
At a press conference held Thursday, police named a total of nine individuals who were identified in relation to the incident. The group had reportedly met Yumnu on the night of the fall. Police have stated that the passports of the eight other individuals have been seized.
While there were reports that some individuals had subsequently left the country, Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau clarified that this was not the case as of last night.
"I personally, among our team, confirmed that none of the individuals had left the Maldives until 9:30 p.m. yesterday," said Commissioner Shujau. He added that the authorities had since issued orders for the seizure of their passports.

An arrest warrant has been obtained for Raud Ahmed Zilal, who was present at the location when Yumnu fell. Police stated that he has not cooperated with the investigation.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
