
Serial scammer arrested for fake bank slips to order food

A 28-year-old man with a history of fraud-related offences has been arrested for allegedly ordering food using forged bank slips.
Police on Sunday identified the suspect as Zaidan Mohamed Hashim of G. Sinamale’.
According to police, Zaidan is accused of placing multiple orders through a food delivery application, Foodies, and submitting invalid payment slips to complete the transactions.
Zaidan was arrested in connection with the case and later presented before the court. The court ordered that he be held in custody for 15 days while the investigation continues.
Police stated that Zaidan has a prior criminal record involving fraud and deception. Previous cases include:

Conviction by the Civil Court on three counts of fraudulently withdrawing large sums of money without repayment

Being listed as a wanted individual by police in February 2023 in relation to a civil court case

Conviction in April 2022 for fraudulently buying and selling goods under a fictitious company

Arrest in October 2023 for submitting a fake payment slip in a currency exchange transaction
Police further noted that they are continuing investigations into whether Zaidan has been involved in other cases involving financial deception. A case opened in 2023 includes multiple alleged victims of extortion and fraud.
