Govt to reissue Gulhifalhu land agreements from next week
The move follows changes made to the land use plan for Gulhifalhu, which has been revised twice during the current administration.
The Ministry of Housing has announced that new land registration and agreement documents will be issued starting next week for individuals allocated land from Gulhifalhu under the Binveriya housing scheme.
The move follows changes made to the land use plan for Gulhifalhu, which has been revised twice during the current administration. A new lottery draw was conducted in late May for the affected recipients. As a result, previously issued land registration documents and agreements were cancelled.
According to an announcement by the ministry on Tuesday, the reissuing process will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. Individuals are required to request an appointment through the Hivaavehi Portal, which is now open for booking. Appointment slots will be available in limited numbers each hour.
Applicants are required to upload the following documents when requesting an appointment:
-
A copy of the ID card of the person appearing to sign as a witness.
-
If someone is representing the land recipient, a power of attorney and notary certificate must be submitted.
-
A copy of the previously signed land agreement.
-
A copy of the previously signed land registry.
The ministry stated that those who apply for an appointment will be informed of their scheduled time and location through the Shelter Portal and by SMS.
