The Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development has announced that recipients of land from Gulhifalhu under the Binveriya housing scheme have been given a final opportunity to sign their land agreements and collect their registries.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, the ministry stated that despite extended deadlines, some beneficiaries have not yet completed the required procedures. The ministry has now set 6 December as the final date to make an appointment through the Hiyaavehi Portal to finalise the process.

The ministry said this would be the last chance to collect the land registry and sign the agreement. Those who fail to request an appointment within the given period will not be offered another opportunity to sign.

Appointments can be requested through the Hiyaavehi Portal, and applicants are required to submit the following documents:

  • A copy of the ID card of the person signing the agreement or acting as a witness

  • If another person is signing on behalf of the recipient, a power of attorney registered or signed before a public notary, along with copies of the attorney’s and the recipient’s ID cards

  • A copy of the previously signed land allotment agreement and land registry

The ministry also noted that appointments would be cancelled for individuals who fail to attend at the scheduled time or who appear without the complete set of documents. Appointment confirmations will be sent via SMS, including details of the date, time, and venue for the signing.

Under the Binveriya scheme, the government has allocated over 2,000 plots of land. Of these, 1,347 recipients originally allocated land in Giraavaru Falhu lagoon will be relocated to Gulhifalhu.
