Businessman Mohamed Solih (Damas Solih) has been awarded the Order of the Dignified Rule of Muleege Dynasty in recognition of his contributions to the development of business and commercial services in the Maldives.
President Mohamed Muizzu presented the award during the Republic Day ceremony held at the Social Centre on Tuesday.
The honour recognises Solih’s role in introducing new business services, supporting the growth of commerce, and promoting the tourism sector, including initiatives to develop environmentally sustainable tourism.
Solih, who is the Chairman of Damas Company, began his career in cargo clearance before expanding into the construction sector. He has also contributed to tourism development, particularly in Addu City, where he currently operates four resorts and three city hotels.
In addition to his work in tourism, Solih established Medica Hospital in Malé and has served on several state boards and committees.
He previously received the National Award of Honour in 2022 for his contributions to business and economics.
