2 arrested in Malé with over 1 kilogram of drugs
Those arrested are Mohamed Evan Hamid, 23, of Valuthereyge, GDh. Madaveli, and Mohamed Raid Ali Asgar, 31, of H. Sakeenamanzil.
The Maldives Police Service has arrested two men in Malé in connection with the seizure of more than one kilogram of drugs.
Police said on Wednesday that the arrests were made following a search of an apartment in the city on Monday as part of an operation carried out by the Drug Enforcement and Counter Narcotics Intelligence unit.
Those arrested are Mohamed Evan Hamid, 23, of Valuthereyge, GDh. Madaveli, and Mohamed Raid Ali Asgar, 31, of H. Sakeenamanzil.
Both men were produced before the court and remanded in custody for seven days.
Police said investigations into the case are ongoing.
