Anti-drug operation under way in Gaafu Alif and Malé

The Maldives Police Service on Sunday launched an anti-drug operation in Gaafu Alif Atoll and the Malé region under its ongoing campaign known as Operation Alimagu.

According to a police statement issued on Sunday, the latest phase of the operation is being conducted in Gaafu Alif Atoll as part of efforts to disrupt drug smuggling and money laundering networks operating in the area.
Police said the operation includes searches of premises linked to suspects and other measures taken in accordance with the law.
The operation is being carried out by teams from the South Police Division, the Intelligence Department and the Drug Enforcement Wing.
