Criminal Court on Monday sentenced a man to 20 years in jail for raping a woman by blackmailing her on the pretext of leaking her naked pictures on Facebook.
Yusuf Hussam, B. Milandhoo/Bluehouse was charged with rape and intimidation by the state in connection with the incident that took place three years ago. Both the charges have been proven in the court.
As per the judgment passed by the court after dropping some details and the report of the trial as it was a case of sexual offence:

Yusuf Hussam told the woman that if she did not do what he wanted, he would leak the woman's pictures on Facebook

The woman was blackmailed and taken to a house where she was raped
Judge Adam Mohamed noted that while the suspect had denied the charges, evidence presented by the prosecution in both the charges proved the charges against Yusuf Hussam. He was convicted in the case:

15 years for rape charges

Five years for intimidation
In connection with the two offences:

He was sentenced to a total of 20 years in prison

The three years, nine months and 24 days he had spent in custody for the investigation and trial will be deducted from each sentence

He will have to serve the remaining sentence of around 13 years and seven months in jail
