Police probe fatal accident involving motorcycle, trailer lorry

A 39-year-old motorcyclist has died following a road accident on Boduthakurufaanu Magu near the Usfasgandu area on Sunday afternoon.
The Maldives Police Service said the incident was reported at around 3:45 p.m. and involved a motorcycle and a trailer lorry.
The deceased has been identified as Ibrahim Nasih, of H.M. Plot No. 20054 (Greenpeak), Malé.
Police said Ibrahim was pronounced dead before he arrived at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
According to preliminary findings, Ibrahim died after ending up underneath the trailer lorry. Police said initial assessments indicate that he did not end up beneath the vehicle as a result of a direct collision with it.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
