President appoints new ambassador to Sri Lanka
Before his new appointment, Faiz had served as the deputy foreign minister since November.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Wednesday appointed Ali Faiz as the new High Commissioner of Maldives to Sri Lanka.
The president presented the high commissioner with his letter of credence at a ceremony held at the President's Office.

Before his new appointment, he had served as the deputy foreign minister since November.
He has also served as a member of the Police Board since April 2021, member of the constitutional assembly, and the chief of protocol at the foreign ministry. He also held several executive positions in both the public and private sectors.
