Yameen's sentencing judge Shakeel takes oath as High Court judge
JSC had last week appointed Shakeel to the High Court.
Criminal Court Chief Judge Ahmed Shakeel on Monday took oath as a High Court judge.
In December, Shakeel sentenced former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to 11 years in prison for accepting bribes and laundering money from the proceeds of the lease of V. Aarah through MMPRC.
JSC had last week appointed Shakeel to the High Court.

Shakeel has faced criticism and accusations from the opposition PPM-PNC coalition over his verdict against the opposition leader. Yameen's appeal against the verdict has already been filed in the High Court.
