Employees who were not given the Ramadan allowance prescribed in the Employment Act have been asked to lodge a complaint with the Labour Relations Authority.
The authority made the request in a post on its social media platforms on Sunday.
As per the post, employees who do not receive the Ramadan allowance can file a complaint by entering the link reserved for filing complaints on the agency's website and completing the information.
According to the Employment Act, every local employee working in the Maldives has to be paid MVR 3,000 as a Ramadan allowance before the start of the fasting month. On March 1, the Labour Relations Authority had reminded employers to provide the benefit.
