Maafushi to hand 308 land plots to residents
Maafushi has opened up a large number of plots and right around the corner is the by-elections to the Parliament's Guraidhoo constituency where Maafushi is.
K. Maafushi council on Thursday opened applications to 308 plots, each measuring 2,000 square feet for residential purposes from the reclaimed land.
According to a notification issued by Maafushi council, the decision to allot land from the reclaimed land, which had been handed over to the council in December 202, was taken at a meeting of the council held on Tuesday.
According to the land allotment policy, Maafushi, which is at the forefront of the guesthouse business and has the highest land value after capital Male, people eligible to apply for a new plot should be consistent with:

Anyone who has acquired more than 600 sqft of land or has land registered in his or her name from any part of the country is not eligible

If a plot owned by the applicant is less than 600 sqft of land, then the land should be released before applying

Not registering for a flat in a government-built building; if such a flat exists, it should be more than two years since it was vacated or sold off
According to the notification, the application form will be issued online and at the Maafushi council counter by June 15. After filling up the application form, it can be submitted along with the required documents to the Maafushi council office by June 15.
