A major fire broke out in a small building owned by Danish dredging company MT Højgaard in Fuvahmulah on Tuesday.
The fire broke out in a building in Malegan ward which was used by Højgaard employees to hold meetings and used for storage.
MNDF said they received information about the fire at around 11:13am. Though the fire has been doused, it is being monitored as smoke can still be seen.
Videos circulating on social media showed that the fire in the building was huge. According to eyewitnesses, the roof of the building collapsed in the incident.
However, no injuries or casualties were reported.
